NEW DELHI: India announced the multi-billion-dollar purchase of Russia’s S-400 air defence system and several other deals with Moscow Friday during a visit to New Delhi by President Vladimir Putin.The agreements, announced following Putin’s talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, come despite threats of sanctions by the United States on countries buying Russian military hardware."The sides welcomed the conclusion of the contract for the supply of the S-400 long-range surface-to-air missile system to India," a joint Indian-Russian statement said.
